London is bursting into bloom with the last few days of sunshine and although it's still chilly the mood has changed with the beautiful light and sightings of glorious Daffodils ...

Sunday brings mothers day the story of which goes back  250 years BC and was celebrated by the ancient Romans in the spring dedicated to Cyber the mother Goddess , as with the Greeks it was a festival to the maternal Goddess.

 

Early Christians celebrated mother day during the fourth Sunday of Lent in Honour of the Virgin Mary the holiday was expanded to include all mothers and named mothering sunday.

In America it was brought about by a determined woman named Anna Jarvis who resolved to pay tribute to her beloved mother in 1907.

The names for mother are many in different countries a few included are:

Maltese = OMM

Norwegian = MOR

Polish = MATKA 

Welsh =MAM

SAMOAN =TINA 

Estonian = EMA 

Asturian = MA 

And the Mother Goddess of Ireland her name is Cerdwin.
